Christopher Daniels Revealed As Stu Bennett's Magnificent Seven Wildcard
The former Ring of Honor World Champion makes his return to the promotion at Light's OutIndependent wrestling veteran and former Ring of Honor World Champion Christopher Daniels makes his return to Defiant on March 19th at Lights Out in Leeds (get tickets).
Daniels last appeared for the promotion over a year ago, making his debut as a surprise replacement for Cody Rhodes at Bulletproof: Championship Showdown where he successfully defended the ROH World Title in a three-way against Adam Cole and Zack Sabre Jr. Daniels returned to defend the gold again as part of the English qualifying leg of the Pro Wrestling World Cup, defeating El Ligero.
The well-traveled competitor was revealed during Defiant #11 by Stu Bennett - after much deliberation - as his "wildcard entry" into the Magnificent Seven briefcase match. Daniels joins Rampage (who beat Mark Haskins last week), Primate (who defeated Zack Gibson) and Prestige duo Joe Hendry and El Ligero (who downed Joe Coffey and BT Gunn) in the bout, with two names still to be confirmed.
As a reminder, capturing the briefcase guarantees the winner a Defiant Championship match at a time of their choosing. Last year's contest was won by Martin Kirby, who lost the briefcase to El Ligero, who in turn dropped it to Marty Scull. 'The Villain' cashed in on the same night and became the Defiant Champion.
Tickets to see Lights Out live in Leeds are available here, while you can watch 24-hours later on Access Defiant and Fite TV.
